Description

Duration: 1 hour (minimum)

Essential step of your discovery of the region, Colmar is the Capital of Alsace wines, where is celebrated every year the famous Wine Fair.

You will observe during your guided tour of the city the several references to viticulture we have. The tour themes can be multiple in Colmar; why not discover the city through local personalities? For example, through the weather cocks and shop signs by the hand of Hansi, famous Alsatian artist born in this city in 1873. Colmar was also the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, father of the world-famous Statue of Liberty - a model 12 meters high is also erected at the entrance of the town.

Did you know...?

Do not miss the House of the Heads with its 106 grimacing masks and the collegiate Saint-Martin that the Colmarians consider as their cathedral. Your guide will also mention the Pfister House whose painted walls tell stories, the "Koïfhus", or the old customs, the oldest public building in the city.

You will then finish your guided tour in the Little Venice district where you can take a tour in a flat-bottomed boat. Colmar offers various possibilities for walks, for example walking through the Champ de Mars, but also a range of cultural activities with, among other things, a visit to the Unterlinden Museum.

We also advise you to make a gastronomic stop at the Marché Couvert to discover some local gastronomy products such as the famous "gendarmes" or "Landjäger" colmariens.
