Conditions of access

The only persons authorized to give explanations in the Cathedral, listed as a historic monument in 1862, are the qualified persons holding the professional card of Tourist Guide from France or from another EU-member (article L221-1 of the French Code of Tourism). Failure to comply with this article provides for fines of €450 for those who violate it (article R221-3 of the French Code of Tourism).

Explanations viva voce are not tolerated, even for a small group. The group needs audiophones (provided by some of our qualified guides or available for rent) to respect the decency and silence of this place of worship.

No stops should be made by the groups (neither in the aisles nor on the chairs): the groups must move slowly and without causing traffic jams.
