Access by coach to Strasbourg

In this post you'll find information about the pick-up and drop-off places in Strasbourg for tourist coaches.  

Official Drop off zones

Parc de l'Étoile

The main drop off zone is located at the Parc de l'Étoile (20 min walking far from the Cathedral), it is open every day from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM.

Important: you have to stop the engine of the bus and not stay on the spot more than 15 minutes.
During Christmas time, the stop time is reduced to up to 5 minutes. 

Quai Sturm (République)

The drop off zone at Quai Sturm, on the left hand side of the Palais du Rhin, is only allowed for buses going with a Qualified Guide in possession of the official authorization by the Town Hall. Only 2 coaches can stop at the same time.

Important: you have to stop the engine of the bus and not park on the spot.

Rue Gustave Adolphe Hirn (Petite france area)

The drop off zone at Quai Sturm, on the left hand side of the Palais du Rhinis only allowed for buses going with a Qualified Guide in possession of the official authorization by the Town Hall. Only 2 coaches can stop at the same time.

Important: you have to stop the engine of the bus and not park on the spot.

 

Former drop off places (now prohibited)

Until 2019, some other drop off zones existed for the Qualified Guides of Strasbourg's city. From now on, they are not accessible to anyone.

  • Place Henri Dunant and Place du Quartier Blanc (Petite France area)
  • Quai Saint-Nicolas (Cathedral area)
  • Rue des frères Matthis (Petite France area) 

 

Official Parking zone

The only parking zone allowed for tourist coaches is the Parking+Relais de l'Elsau, exit "Elsau" on the motorway A35. The coaches can easily get there thanks to the several streets signs departing from Parc de l'Étoile.

Functioning:

  • Fenced parking
  • Monday to Friday: 6.30am / 8.30pm
  • Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: 8h / 20h
  • 24-hour free exit

Rates:

€18,60 it includes :

  • Parking fee
  • Round trip ticket for the driver(s) (maximum 2 round trip tickets)

€34 it includes :

  • Parking fee
  • Round Trip ticket for all coach passengers (including drivers)

For this last ticket, you will have to contact CTS (Strasbourg public transport company) and ask for this specific ticket. We recommend to ask at least a month before arrival. 

 

In accordance with the statutory requirements, the parking of coaches is strictly prohibited outside the reserved spaces.

Buses that do not comply with these provisions listed above may be subject to fines.
